W11D4 – So I spoke too fucking soon…

Yes the steels was delivered….. And there the good news ends. The drawings that was submitted by the structural engineer was incorrect and the beams on one of the pages was confused with another giving a problem when it came to their fabrication. On page 49 of the drawing they was correct in a top down plan – but the structural drawing had the two beams mixed up and this has caused an issue where the beams have had plates welded to them, and now are incorrect and have to be reworked.

Speaking with the Structural engineer he has agreed that there was an error and has submitted a new drawing – however assuming that these steels can be reworked then any additional costs I’m going to have to send his way.

I am slowly learning to accept these problems as part of the build plan.

To make things worse, I was informed this morning that I am going to lose the kitchen for an undetermined time frame as of later on today – can I kindly clear it out ? Arrggghhhhhh – we was informed last week that we didn’t need to and we would work around it – come on – whats the bloody plan lads ?!!?

OK, so we have the kitchen a little longer, but look at the mess we have to work with hehehe…
