W02D1 – A new week and New Weather….

Today I called the architect to check upon progress from DCWW and also to say that the new drawings did not include the retaining wall we had so needed to build.  Also due to the reduction in size of the build they are not an acceptable.

I cancelled appointment with B&Q as this was pointless until we know what we are dealing with. Still awaiting call to see if builders can return to site yet.

Weather has turned to shit – raining like mad and hole slowly but surely filling in – over a foot of water in the hole now.   No idea if builders can even start should DCWW give the go ahead to the proposals.

After hours on the phone, DCWW have now signed off the works to the rear of the property and the builders can complete this excavation and start to pour concrete as DCWW do not need to inspect these works.  They are happy to let builders work, they can now even to get to DPC Level, but usually best to pour all in one go.

However there are still debates as to the diversion of next door’s waste. The architect is to attend a meeting with DCWW to resolve at 15:30 today so fingers crossed.

After meeting,  we now have favourable outcome. DCWW have agreed to let us build but with small changes.

The work for next door is to be completed UNDER the existing wall structure – new drawings provided.

Claire and I Needed to sign and return document to DCWW to say we own the land – joy of joys….   Lets hope that the work re-commences shortly… (once it stops pissing down that is..)
