W25D4 – Window Lowering and more skimming..

Darran is now on holiday and Joe’s in charge – Andrew has come down to labour for him.  They managed to get the majority of the upper hallway plastered today and started to look towards the front door area and how they was going to board that area.  It was found that the window at the front has its vent too high to allow for any plasterboard to be set above it and we would need to adjust this.  The options presented was to cut out a course of blocks and lower the window, the problem is that the bricks are Pot Bricks and have holes so when the lower one was cut there would have been a rough edge and I did not want that.  I was adamant that this would not be the course of action.  I said they have 2 recourses to fix.  Cut out the brick and replace with a half-brick and then two horizontal slithers to lower the window, or replace the window.

We decided on replacing the bricks – doesn’t look too bad but looks a damn sight better than a rough edged block would….
