W19D1 – Holey Moley Fatman – Where’s our landing gone….

Today the builders took out the hallway to the new build and the side window with it.  This enabled them to put in the floorboards and start on the insulation.  The wall is not completely knocked out but you can start to see some shape coming along.

Was told that tomorrow should see the electrician and chap to sort out the stairs…

Was also told that my architect has dropped a bollock !  The drawings show that the walls in the existing house are straight and this is where we plan to put steels in to hold up the existing roof and the purlins.  However, our ceilings are not straight and follow the ridge of the roof.  This means that the steels would want to sit where the wall should be…  Structural Engineer to visit in the morning.

End of play saw a couple of boards over the gap to protect from any invaders.  Hopefully they won’t find any of the 3-4 saws left near the wood 😉
