W16D3 – More gables and porch work

The Gable on the side was completed today, ready for the roofers to get started, all we need is the tiles and we can start on the main roof.

Brickie said that today would see the front footings for the porch and toilet wall going in today – need to chat with Builder regarding the post for the porch structure.  Not sure that I really want to have wood as there is the possibility of that area retaining water and making the lifespan of the post a little limited and needing replacing after a few years.  Not something I fancy doing.

Unfortunately the optimism of the brickie was surpassed by the inability to make the tools work 🙂  The breaker – broke – and therefore left the poor buggers with little assistance on removing the step – However it did mean that we could have a bloody good clean up and take away the rubbish.  The Tiles turned up much to the builders dismay as it meant that we could not reverse the truck on the drive to fill it up – but at least the tiles, batten and felt was delivered.
