W09D1 – Let there be grass…..

OK so after a disastrous weekend on the grass front the aim is to get the back garden completed by Monday/Tuesday in order that the builders can get in to continue with the house.

So a team of people turned up and went and came back again – all in all a bit of a shambles but the work was progressing.

The big win for the day was digging the Cornish Palm up – then having to diesel the base to get rid of the rest of it.

It took approximately 4-5 hours to get to grips with this beast as the sun was beating down on the poor buggers and it was little more than 10-15 minute stints per person having a whack at this bloody tree stump.

Of course, Simon knew best – rock salt was the answer – unfortunately we didnt have the 2-3 weeks to wait for the fucking thing to rot.  When he was asked to grab the Mattock and have a clout – he found other things to do and shut up.  How unexpected of him.

Once the tree was out, the hole was filled with a few 6″ Concrete blocks and paving slabs then recovered with grit and dust.

Bricks was being delivered by the van-load for use to pack out some of the area that needed back-filling…  Monday/Tuesday is not looking promising….
